The case that Tzarina and I are working on now is what I like to call 'the thousand dollar book'.
Two books were stolen in the last two weeks; one on famous paintings, and one on the Holocaust.
The book on the Holocaust was loaned to our school from a museum in Washington DC, and that is the one we are focusing on for now.

The book on the Holocaust was loaned to our school from a museum in Washington DC, and that is the one we are focusing on for now.
The facts:
The book was loaned to our school because at the time, the 7th graders where doing a report on the Holocaust. Around the time it was taken, It was left on the teacher's desk for about 3 nights, so anyone who stayed after school in that time frame, or was in the classroom at a time when the book wasn't being watched is a suspect.
Who are we suspecting?
No one person, yet. Barely even a group of people. Technically, anyone could have taken it, but what use would someone who works at the school have for it? So with that in mind, whoever stole the book is most likely a student, most likely in seventh grade, and someone in the class doing the report. Possibly someone who participates in after school clubs, because it would be easier to steal the book after school hours when there aren't as many people.
The other school sharing the building with ours is probably out of the blame because how would they have known that the book is here, the importance of it, and the best time to take it without being noticed?

Why would someone take the book?
What motive would someone have to take the book? For a dare, for popularity, for their report, to sell, the list goes on. There is also the possibility that it wasn't stolen at all. That maybe someone borrowed it, and took it with them as they left, and is too scared to say it was them now that this has been made into such a big deal.
Why is it taking so long?
Tzarina and I are not allowed access to the security tapes, the names of the kids in after school clubs, and the crime scene was contaminated so there are no fingerprints or anything left that could lead us to who took the book.
We are going to interview some people who may know things later.
